Held on the 4th of November 2012, the first ever International Day on campus was met with great enthusiasm from both Indian and foreign students. Both groups collaborated, planned and executed the event without a hitch. The day was filled with truly international events like the playing of the Chinese flute, a Japanese dance, a traditional European dance and a rock band that, among other well-known songs, performed our own viral “Why This Kolaveri Di?” The food, in keeping with the global theme of the day, ranged from homemade crepes to pizzas – a delicious treat for the foodies at the event. The day ended with an enthralling jugalbandi by Avigna Dance Company which was followed by an international movie. It can be safely assumed that the students will be impatiently awaiting the next International Day to relive the rush of experiencing such cultural diversity without having to leave the campus.
